San Juan, Puerto Rico (Tuesday, June 9, 2020) - Due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19 and ensuring the well-being and health of thousands of runners, the production of the Lola Challenge Weekend event announces the postponement of it for next year. The seventh edition of the sports event will take place September 3 to 5, 2021 on the grounds of the Castillo San Felipe del Morro.
The Lola Challenge Weekend event began on the Island back in 2013. Since then it has been known for being a successful forum for runners, athletes including people of all ages that love exercising and healthy lifestyles. Thousands of runners meet annually at the event that manages to gather athletes from other countries such as: Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Colombia and the United States, among others.
"We are very sad to have to postpone this year's activity, but it is our responsibility as organizers to watch over the safety of the attendees. We return in 2021 with the same energy and enthusiasm as always for the enjoyment of the thousands of runners participating in our event, "said Zenaida Gutiérrez, President of the organization's Board of Directors.
As we have done in previous editions, part of the proceeds from the Lola Challenge Weekend will be donated to the Make a Wish Puerto Rico foundation. To facilitate the process of people who are already registered, subscriptions will be deferred for next year.
